Executive Team
Executive Director
Joe Domko
A Colorado native, Joe was born in Denver, raised in Boulder, and attended undergrad at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. Formed within a religious household led by devout parents, it came as no surprise when Joe attended seminary in 2008. He graduated with a master’s degree in religion and accepted a call to serve youth and young adults in Boulder. Exposure to the transformational work of a Catholic Charities agency in Patterson, New Jersey led Joe to consider direct service work, and in 2015 he was entrusted with the opportunity to manage Shalom House, a small men’s shelter owned and operated by Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas. The experience at Shalom House confirmed this new calling, and in 2018 Joe accepted a regional director position with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Denver. There he led the Larimer County office, operating a multi-faceted shelter system along with numerous emergency assistance and homelessness prevention ministries. In this administrative capacity, Joe honed his craft of building healthy, resilient teams.
Joe is both humbled and overjoyed to accept the Executive Director position with Catholic Charities of Southern Colorado. He has maintained a lifelong appreciation for the land, cultures, and heritage of this beautiful and complex region, and he considers it one of the great privileges of his life to be able to serve in this new capacity.
Joe has been blessed with an enduringly patient and amazing wife in Heather, and the two have in turn been blessed with three wonderful children. Together they enjoy copious amounts of time outside hiking, riding bikes, visiting the zoo, and playing in rivers and streams. At home they enjoy reading, playing games, and telling crazy stories. They are all incredibly excited and grateful to put down roots and call Pueblo home.
